But wait, there's more!

Make the automobiles 'persons' and that way they can claim asylum, seek work, etc.

"We owe them membership."

LMAO once shit like this becomes a thing we have set the roadmap for the collapse of modern society and the entry into new dark ages.

There already are "people" suggesting plants have the same rights as people. I say "people" because they clearly have the mental capacity of a tree.

when i see shit like that it reminds me of this documentary I watched on Gobekli Tepe. Basically it was the earliest discovered temple. Before it the cave men had art that showed reverence for animals and nature. Gobekli Tepe had humans "above" animals in it's art, which is also around the time that domestication started to occur. They suggested that this philosophy that humans are "above" nature or allowed to control it instead of worshiping it is what started civilization. Basically when I see this it makes me think these people want to return to the cave.

For me, as a Christian, I like the bit from Genesis that goes like this with slight variations depending on the translation "Then God said, 'Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.'" So I would find it incredibly difficult to entertain someone telling me that a dog should have the same rights as me when He who created us both purposely put me above the dog...YMMV

some people in all actuality are stupider than a tree, but plant citizenship is totally stupid.

If they are persons, you could technically marry or adopt them and have them import-I mean, immigrate to the US with a Fiance Visa / Green Card / US Passport.

If your employer provides you with benefits, you can also have them on your Medical Insurance (after you make sure that the dealership is an in-network hospital on the insurance plan, of course)

And don't forget to claim them on your tax return as dependents!

Pretty sure companies are considered a person in the States. At least a car exists as a physical object.

HELL EFFING NO, no way I'm giving up meat, or eggs, or milk. therefore, i would be (kind of) okay with dogs being citizens, but not cows, chickens, turkey, pigs, etc. This is Muricah, and I need to eat my meat.

When traveling with pets internationally, they actually have "pet passports" for holding verified shot records, etc.

Yes, companies are persons for the purposes of bringing suit against them or trying them for crimes. Sadly you can convict a company of a crime and it doesn't accomplish much.
